Gold and stock indices from a crypto account

With no brokerage account and no dollars, you can take a position on gold or stock indices as long as you have USDT in your futures wallet. You are not buying the physical asset or the underlying shares; these are perpetual contracts that only track the price.

There is no expiry

There is no set expiry date and everything is settled in USDT. The way the price is held to the underlying asset is the same funding fee structure as crypto perpetual futures.

Open at night and on weekends

Positions can be opened and closed any time, 24 hours a day, including weekends and public holidays. Trading works even during the hours when the underlying market is closed.

In return, there are Monday gaps

When the underlying market closes for the weekend and opens again, the price can have gapped far away. Funding fees keep accruing over the weekend as well.

Instruments open now

At the time of checking, six TradFi instruments were actually listed. The introduction on the first screen also mentions foreign exchange, but the foreign exchange and commodities categories have no instruments yet.

As of September 2026 The exchange changes listed symbols and leverage from time to time. For the stock and index series, two official screens show different multiples, so they are not listed here.

  • One futures wallet covers everything Crypto futures and TradFi use the same margin. You do not need to open a separate account for each instrument.
  • The leverage schedule differs from crypto Gold and indices swing less than crypto, so a separate leverage schedule applies. Note, though, that 200x means a move of just 0.5% wipes out your margin.
  • You do not own the physical asset You are not buying gold, and you are not buying stocks. They are derivatives that only track the price, so there are no dividends and no physical delivery.
In detail

What this table can tell you, and what it cannot

  • Instruments whose names differ by one letter are mixed in Add one letter T to XAUUSDT and you have XAUTUSDT. Yet the maximum leverage in the table differs: 100x for the first, 200x for the second. On the stock and index side, MUUSDT and MUUUSDT differ by one U as well. Read the name of the instrument you chose right to the end before entering a quantity.
  • The same margin takes a position twice the size With 100 USDT of margin at maximum leverage, XAUUSDT gives 10,000 USDT worth, while XAUTUSDT and PAXGUSDT give 20,000 USDT worth. If the price moves 0.5% against you, the arithmetic gives 50 USDT for the first and 100 USDT for the second. The second is everything you put in. One letter in the name doubles the size of the gain or loss.
  • The numbers in the table are ceilings The column is headed "maximum leverage". It means the highest multiple you can use on that instrument, not that you have to trade at it. Even on an instrument listed at 200x, taking the leverage down gives a smaller position for the same margin.
  • Hold over a weekend and you pass several funding settlements It says these contracts have the same funding structure as coin perpetual futures. Two weekend days are forty-eight hours, so an instrument on an eight-hour cycle passes six of them in that time. Cycles differ by instrument, and whether you are paying or receiving differs each time, so if you plan to leave a position open on Friday, look at the official screens first.
  • The Monday gap comes while you are away This page notes that when the underlying market has been closed over the weekend and opens again, the price can have jumped a long way. At that hour you are usually not watching the screen. The same page says 200x is a leverage at which a move of only 0.5% wipes out the margin, so if you plan to carry a position over a weekend, work out first whether your leverage can take a gap of that size.
  • One wallet means one pool of free margin Adding instruments does not create a new account, but the money you can use also comes from one place. If a lot of margin is already tied up in coin futures, the room left for gold or an index is smaller by that much. Check what is free before you go into something new.
  • Stock and index leverage is not written in this table In place of numbers, the three instruments' cells say to check. The reason for leaving them out is given too: two official screens show different leverage. Getting the leverage wrong changes the size the same margin takes, so check before ordering.
  • Forex and commodities had categories but no instruments Even though the description mentions forex, at the time of checking the forex and commodities categories were empty. Why the two differ is something this guide does not know either. Listings are changed by the exchange from time to time, so do not deposit on the strength of a category name; check first that instruments are actually shown in the list.
  • The arithmetic is not the same as holding the physical thing for a long time Holding on for a long time does not pile up gold. These are contracts that only track the price, with no dividend and no physical delivery; all that is left in your hands is the gain or loss. Meanwhile, funding settlement times keep passing while you hold. Decide first whether you are in for a few days on direction alone or holding for a long time, and then choose the instrument and the leverage.
